Collection: Hillesvåg Sølje

Founded in 1898, Hillesvåg woolen factory is a family-owned spinning mill that has been providing fiber artists with yarn for over 125 years.  Located in Hjelmås, Norway, the mill produces authentic yarns spun with Norwegian wool.  Renowned for warmth & durability, Norwegian wool is durable & resilient.  In addition, it is resistant to pilling & offers thermoregulating properties.

Ideal for stranded colorwork, Sølje is an authentic heritage yarn spun with 100% Norwegian wool.  The 2-ply, fingering weight has the perfect gauge for accessories & garments that may be worn almost all year.  It is also lovely for home knits such as throws, decorative pillows & holiday décor.  The rustic hand of the yarn gets softer & even more beautiful with wash & wear.

A yarn for wool lovers, Sølje offers durability, warmth & resistance to pilling.  Light, with a bit of loft, the yarn delivers beautiful stitch definition.  Stockinette & textured stitch patterns come to life knit in the gorgeous, heathered colorways.  The depth of the hues is accentuated by the very subtle sheen of this lovely yarn.

Sølje is wonderful for beginner colorwork & Scandinavian sweater classes.
