Bramble & Fleece Origin No. 010 Corriedale + Mohair/ Lace/ Light Fingering Weight

Bramble & Fleece Origin No. 010 Corriedale + Mohair/ Lace/ Light Fingering Weight

The story of bramble & fleece begins with exceptional sheep breeds that roam verdant meadows.  Each heritage yarn base is spun in Yorkshire, England & is created from the finest wool.  Expertly blended for hand-knitting, the yarns work into beautiful accessories & garments that will delight for years to come.

Origins are expertly blended, undyed yarn bases for hand-dyeing.  Spun with heritage, non-superwash treated wool from special breeds, each base is crafted to dye & knit beautifully.

Enjoy the unique characteristics that each breed brings to the yarn, as well as the beautiful natural fleece color variations.  It is these details that elevate your hand-dyed creations into little luxuries your customers will treasure.

Origins are available to purchase in small, single bag quantities with no large mill minimum order quantities.  The yarn is perfect for your own hand-dyed store brand, customer dyeing workshops or selling to customers for home dyeing.

Sourced & spun in Yorkshire, England, Origin No. 010 is a lace/ light fingering weight blend of undyed Corriedale wool & mohair.

Lightweight & luminous, with a lovely halo, the 2-ply yarn is durable, yet delicate.  The yarn is gorgeous for lace & open stitch patterns.  A relaxed twist gives the yarn a lightness for airy accessories.

Corriedale wool results in a “smooshy” yarn with superior memory & elasticity.  It is excellent for stranded colorwork & also recommended for new knitters due to the ease of working with the yarn.  Corriedale has a beautiful bloom that evens out stitches after blocking.

The natural bright, light cream/ white is sought after for dyeing, as the base color results in bright, even tones.

Collected from goats, mohair is an extremely lightweight fiber with a beautiful sheen & halo.  It is a friend to all fibers; pairing especially well with wool.  It adds instant softness & a luxe quality to knits.  Mohair takes dye well & can achieve deep, vivid colors.

The sheen & halo of this yarn is ideal for luxurious wraps, shawls & delicate gauge sweaters & accessories.  It may be held single stranded for a light, airy fabric or held double or triple for a more substantial fabric.
